The main raw materials are quartz sand, Portland cement, lime, aluminum powder and water. For manufacturing the final product, the material is put in autoclaves with approximately 190oC and about 12 bar pressure.

The principle is quite simple; air pores created within each block during the production process, gives outstanding properties as they reduce the humidity, and disperse incoming heat to provide an exceptional comfortable living in addition to superior features and advantages.

Autoclaved aerated concrete (AAC) is well known as an environmentally friendly construction material. The energy consumed in the production process is only a fraction compared to the production of other materials. Delta Block (AAC) is manufactured from inorganic material, has no radioactivity, is free of allergenic substances, and doesn’t release any toxic gases in case of any fire. Delta Block has been known well-known as an ecological material since it enhances sustainability. It is manufactured by progressive technology using the most modern quality control equipment, and this guarantees high quality products and reliable technical characteristics.

Our “Go Green!” policy ensures that Delta Block is the most environmentally- friendly building unit, and by using natural products to manufacture our block, it is guaranteed to result in a greener outcome.

Delta Block is suitable for building all standards of Energy efficient houses: starting from energy saving up to passive houses. Delta block provides the optimal heat accumulation inside of the walls. Even without additional insulation, the operating costs are significantly reduced.

The dry density of Delta Block ranges between (500-550kg/m³), which is 1/3 of clay bricks, and 1/4 of concrete blocks. Being light-weight, Delta Block (AAC) radically reduces the dead-weight of any building, which results in reducing the amount of steel used (up to 15% of structural cost saving), which eventually reduces the cost of materials used to construct any building.

Construction with Delta Blocks with the final processing (building and plastering) saves at least 10-15%, when compared with the traditional way of building, depending on the type of the project. The exact value of the general savings is difficult to say because it depends on the project, climatic conditions onsite, team’s quality of application (surface composition), and more importantly how “Green” we want our house.

Combining AAC’s R Value with 100% wall coverage thermal mass inertia and low air infiltration, results in a wall system that has proven to reduce energy in most applications. Delta Block is the highest thermal insulating building material (interior/exterior walls). The result demonstrates that the heat insulation performance of Delta Block (25 cm thickness), is 79% higher than other traditional blocks like bricks (24 cm + 2 cm plaster mortar). The Ideal heat insulation is obtained by trapping a large quantity of air in little pores so that it can no longer circulate. Delta Block’s insulating properties are the same in every direction of the block, which aids in reducing the thermal bridges significantly.

We overcome this point using a special mortar product. Delta Mortar is a thin bed block laying adhesive mortar; which is specially formulated to be used with AAC, ensuring blocks are joint together efficiently. The thickness of joint is reduced to 1-3 mm, which further creates the homogeneous wall structure of Delta Block. The reduction in joint thickness has a tremendous effect on thermal conservation and ensures there is no heat loss, which occurs when using standard mortar. Using Delta Mortar will also generate improved masonry properties in terms of higher strength and reduced water penetration. The heat conductivity of the wall is further reduced by ca. 25% when using Delta Mortar compared to conventional mortar.

Sound insulation is primarily dependent on the density of materials. As a porous structure, Delta Block comes to the significant attenuation of sound. AAC wall has an excellent sound transmission class (STC) rating, which is 48, and this ensures efficient sound proofing in any building. The use of Delta Block not only isolates outdoor noise interference, but also assures a comfortable sound environment indoors.

Delta Block, like any other building material, absorbs moisture from the air. Water penetrating the material though, gets only up to a depth of 3,5 cm in depth. With moisture content into a Delta Block, the color changes, but that does not mean that the quality changes. Color is not an indicator of quality.

The raw material adopted and the Delta Block building unit itself is absolutely fire resistant. Experimental results that have been conducted shows that 10 cm thick walls made of Delta Block can withstand fire for at least 4 hours. However, there are 7 thicknesses manufactured by our factories ranging from 10cm to 40cm thick, and as the thickness of the block increases, the fire resistivity increases gradually up to 7 hours.

Delta Block increases the ductility. It is safer to use Delta Block than any other ordinary masonry due to the fact that in the occurrence of any earth quake, the seismic strength of any building manufactured using Delta Block will have a higher resistance against the earth quake; therefore, protecting the lives and the economic assets in the building in case of any natural disaster. Moreover when a building is lighter, the impact of an earthquake is less.

Delta Block is there for you. Our technical support team will supply you with the appropriate list, including the type of anchor you should use depending on the weight we need each anchor to hold and of course the application (air condition units, cupboards, doors, window frames). Delta Block is a compact and simultaneously very durable material, one Delta Block may support loads to 50 Tons with average compressive strength 40 Kg/cm².

Not necessarily. Although Delta Blocks are easy to build, the application procedure is not the same with the bricks. Therefore, our technical engineering services are at your convenience 24/7. Hand in Hand with our clients until the client is ultimately satisfied with the construction. Plena- Egypt offers on-site technical support and construction supervision with a highly qualified team of technical engineers and supervisors, ensuring the correct application of our products. We also present upon request a list of certified and fully trained Masonry Contractors and brick layers with equivalent market rates. The delivery of any of our products is ensured to be with the highest quality and minimum waste, 24/7 through our up to date fleet. It is crucial that Plena- Egypt spreads the proper product awareness, and educates the market of our products; making sure all of our customers are highly satisfied.

Delta Block walls are vapor diffusion permeable, which can absorb and retain a great deal of moisture if it comes in contact with water for a long period of time. The absorption process is much slower than a clay brick wall. Also, in case of a flood occurring, both the static properties, and physical properties of Delta Block remain stable. Compared to other building materials, the water vapor diffuses much faster when using Delta Block.

The components made of aerated concrete products should have a surface treatment. The flat surfaces of all the walls made of aerated concrete products allow thin layers of plaster to be used. With an exterior plaster thickness of about 25 mm and 20mm for internal plaster, the thermal insulation is improved, while you achieve great economy, by minimizing plastering thicknesses.

Although Delta Blocks give a fur face wall outer surface more than any other blocks, but we do not recommend skipping the plastering stage for any reason. A painting exterior masonry on a concrete cell is possible, but there is no guarantee of sealing the rain swing. This is why most paintings show micro cracks at the joints between the blocks and it is through these micro cracks that water can penetrate. These products are deteriorating under the effects of UV light and must be renewed very often. This is the reason why Delta Block walls should be plastered in most cases.

Definitely YES, due to the large volume of one single Delta block which is equivalent to about 9 clay bricks, and the ease of holding the block for it’s a lightweight material. A single crew can produce (3.5 to 4) M³/ day, which is however more than other blocks by 75-100 % higher. In accordance, less duration given to the masonry activities in any project.

Delta Blocks have been used in the many applications such as:

  • Hospitality; hotels, motels and restaurants
  • Industrial Buildings
  • Office Buildings
  • Educational Buildings; Universities, and schools
  • Medical, clinics and offices
